Check Tree Preservation Orders in Bassetlaw

Bassetlaw District Council is the Local Planning Authority for the north of Nottinghamshire, covering the towns of Worksop and Retford and surrounding villages such as Harworth, Tuxford and Misterton. It makes and holds the district's Tree Preservation Orders.

Not to the national dataset. At our July 2026 check, Bassetlaw District Council had published no Tree Preservation Order records to planning.data.gov.uk, so a Worksop or Retford search will normally return an empty map here. In the Dukeries — the estate landscape around Clumber and Welbeck where veteran trees define the scenery — that is clearly a publishing gap rather than an absence of protection; the district's orders sit in the council's own register.

Bassetlaw's 33 conservation areas are in the national dataset, though, covering historic cores in Worksop, Retford and villages like Tuxford — and inside them, most tree work needs written notice to the council even without a TPO.

Since Bassetlaw's TPO register cannot be reached through the national data, a blank result for a district address is a publishing gap rather than an all-clear.

The report says that for the specific property, checks conservation areas, Article 4 directions and listed buildings against it, and confirms the outcome in writing before you commit to work.
